Principal's Message
Welcome to Waverly Elementary.
I would like to thank you for visiting our website. My name is Jessica Riley and I am very excited to begin my ninth year as Waverly’s principal.
I was born and raised in the Linden/Stockton area. I currently live in the Waverly community, with my husband and three children. I attended both Waverly and Linden High School as a child. After graduating, I attended Delta College and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. From there, I transferred to CSU Stanislaus, earning a BA in Liberal Studies. During that time, I was also teaching preschool at St. Michael’s Church. In 2008, I began teaching at Waverly School, as their Special Education teacher. I received a Master’s in Special Education from UOP. In 2013, I went back to Teacher's College of San Joaquin and received a preliminary administrative credential. Most recently in 2018, I obtained my clear administrative credential. I am currently working on earning a certificate in curriculum and instruction.
I believe that learning is not a spectator sport; students play an important role in their education. I also believe that learning is a lifelong process and is best achieved in a safe and caring environment. Some goals that I have for Waverly are to continue Waverly’s strong sense of family and community and to continue to make progress on the implementation of STEM within our classrooms.
My hobbies include reading, spending time with my family and the beach.
Waverly is my home and I welcome you to visit anytime you wish.
