Principal's Corner
Waverly Elementary Rocks!

Welcome to Waverly Elementary.

I would like to thank you for visiting our website. My name is Jessica Riley and I am very excited to begin my eighth year as Waverly’s principal.

I was born and raised in the Linden/Stockton area. I currently live in the Waverly community, with my husband and three children. I attended both Waverly and Linden High School as a child. After graduating, I attended Delta College and obtained an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. From there, I transferred to CSU Stanislaus, earning a BA in Liberal Studies. During that time, I was also teaching preschool at St. Michael’s Church. In 2008, I began teaching at Waverly School, as their Special Education teacher. I received a Master’s in Special Education from UOP. In 2013, I went back to Teacher's College of San Joaquin and received a preliminary administrative credential. Most recently in 2018, I obtained my clear administrative credential.

I believe that learning is not a spectator sport; students play an important role in their education. I also believe that learning is a lifelong process and is best achieved in a safe and caring environment. Some goals that I have for Waverly are to continue Waverly’s strong sense of family and community and to continue to make progress on the implementation of Robotics/STEM within our classrooms.

My hobbies include reading, spending time with my family and watching the Raiders play.

Waverly is my home and I welcome you to visit anytime you wish.
